Frequently asked questions

Common questions before requesting a proposal and planning your service.

How do we define the scope of a proposal?

Your first message only needs to describe the type of premises, city and general requirement. Duties, working hours, staffing, equipment needs and what is included or excluded are clarified together during the next assessment.

Can I enquire before I know how many staff I need?

Yes. You do not need a final headcount to begin. Access points, visitor movements, working hours and expected duties are considered together; site size alone does not determine the requirement.

How is a transition from an existing security service planned?

The start date, duties, points of contact and handover information are clarified together. Transition steps account for daily site operations, while timelines and responsibilities relating to the existing service are reviewed separately.

How is the service priced?

Pricing considers duties, working hours, staffing, site conditions, equipment and any additional services. When comparing proposals, consider the included duties and resources alongside the total price.

Show 8 more questions Show fewer questions
How is suitability for the assignment assessed?

Relevant qualifications, experience and communication skills matter. Site rules, the limits of the role and reporting routes should also be clarified during preparation.

How are leave and absences planned for?

Shift arrangements and possible staffing changes are part of continuity planning. Handover and briefing arrangements should be considered alongside the service scope.

How is communication with the site team organised?

Points of contact and communication channels are defined for daily coordination, requests and reviews. Emergency reporting arrangements should be addressed separately.

What reporting can be included?

Reporting may cover activity records, issues encountered and matters requiring follow-up. Content, frequency and sharing arrangements are clarified around your organisation’s needs.

Can the scope change after the service begins?

New hours, areas or duties may affect staffing and resources. The operational and commercial implications should be reviewed together before a change is introduced.

Should I share sensitive site information in my first enquiry?

No. A general description of your needs is sufficient. The necessary scope and appropriate channel for sharing security plans, access information or detailed site documents should be agreed separately.

How can an organisation obtain a private security permit?

An application is made to the relevant provincial governorate on behalf of the organisation or site, using the private security permit request form and required documents. For ongoing services, the governor grants permission following the provincial private security commission’s decision. Confirm current documents and procedures with the relevant police or gendarmerie private security unit. This is separate from an individual security officer’s identity card application.

What powers do private security officers have?

Powers under Articles 7 and 9 of Law No. 5188 are limited to duty time and the authorised area. Examples include detector screening, X-ray screening of belongings, identity checks and apprehension where the law permits, and protecting incident scenes and evidence. Force may be used only under the legal conditions. Incidents involving apprehension or force must be reported promptly to the police or gendarmerie; apprehended persons and seized items must be handed over to them.

What happens after your enquiry?

  1. Review your needs

The general information you share is reviewed to understand your enquiry and service expectations.

  2. Clarify the details

The site’s working arrangements, duties and any other points requiring discussion are considered together.

  3. Prepare the scope and proposal

The clarified requirements form the basis for preparing the service scope and proposal terms.
