Shortlisting security companies in Ankara: from claims to evidence
In This Article

A security company's position in search results does not establish that it is the best match for your facility. Short online descriptions rarely explain service boundaries, local support capacity or how the client relationship will work. Use the same questions to fill those gaps when building a shortlist.

Geographical proximity can matter for an Ankara-based organisation, but it is not competence on its own. An office, a shift-operated factory and a residential development may require different arrangements. This guide turns broad claims about being the best into information that can be examined.

Verify the legal entity and permission first

Match the trading brand with the legal company that will sign the contract. Clarify its operating permission and the type of service proposed. Official Turkish National Police private security resources provide a starting point; advertising and social media profiles do not replace authorisation documents.

Ask for a written statement of the location, hours and duties covered. Sales, contractual and operational contacts may legitimately be different people, but their responsibilities should be identifiable.

Ask what a reference actually demonstrates

A client logo alone does not reveal the date, scope, duration or current status of a relationship. When discussing experience with similar facilities, suppliers can describe the type of work, staffing arrangement and operational needs without breaching confidentiality.

A contactable reference should be shared with the relevant party's permission. Inability to disclose a name is not automatically evidence of incompetence. Equally, do not treat an anonymous example as an independently verified relationship. Record which documents, process examples and statements you have actually checked.

Examine local support through scenarios

Who decides what happens if an officer does not arrive before a shift? Who can clarify an instruction at night? Is there an accountable person familiar with the site? These questions reveal more than the headquarters address alone.

Do not accept a precise arrival-time promise without considering traffic and real deployment conditions. Coordination with public law enforcement should not be presented as a privileged relationship. The relevant evidence is a correct reporting route, lawful boundaries and documented communication.

Test technology and certificate claims with examples

Ask for an anonymised sample of the report you would receive rather than only a software name. How is an unresolved fault tracked, an incorrect record corrected and client access controlled? These questions show what the system does. Do not assume every site needs thermal cameras or drones.

If an ISO-related certificate is offered, check its scope and issuing body. ISO does not itself certify organisations, and ISO 31000 is not designed as a certifiable company management-system standard. A document title does not mean the supplier removes every legal risk or performs without error.

Complete the shortlist with a first-month plan

Ask final candidates for a concise plan covering induction, handover, keys and cards, personnel changes and the first review meeting. Each activity should have an owner and evidence of completion. Establish who may authorise changes after appointment. A reliable selection record includes unverified claims and outstanding questions as well as positive findings. This makes discrepancies between sales expectations and on-site duties easier to identify when service begins.
